SOUND SENSATION is the Concert Group of the KOS Musical Theatre Company and is run in conjunction with the main company. We are made up of enthusiastic members who like to learn additional material alongside the current productions.
Our repertoire contains a huge diversity of music from Grand Opera to Modern Musicals and contemporary choral works.
We are available for celebrations or fund-raising events, large or small, anywhere in the Northamptonshire area.
For as long as there has been a K.O.S. (since 1947) we have always tried to take music to the community and, under the direction of Miss Gladys Riseley MBE, the Concert Party entertained at Residential homes, Church Festivals and Fundraising Events all over the county and beyond. Annual productions then were the source of almost all programme material, and a rich source indeed.
Times change - We now have a New Name!
The annual production still forms the bedrock of our repertoire, but we now incorporate many different forms of music, as diverse as current West End Productions to Spirituals and contemporary 'Pop' pieces.
Definitely Songs for ALL occasions.
And as SOUND SENSATION we still take the music to the community
Sadly, as of June 23rd 2018, Sound Sensation will never sound exactly the same again.
Our wonderful friend and soprano soloist, Joan Carnell, lost her battle with cancer and has now taken her place with the Angel Choir.
I am so proud of the choir for their wonderful singing at the Service of Celebration of Joan's life.
We will miss her forever.
Another great friend of the group, Mandy's Dad, Max Harrison, long-time champion of the Parkinson's Association passed the next day after a lifetime of challenges and accomplishments.
We will remember them both each time we carry our new pink music folders, so they will always be with us.
R.I.P. two true friends.
