It looks on here as though we've not been very busy for a while but I can assure you that, behind the scenes we've been working harder than ever before.
Since we lost our dear friend Joan last year we have been thinking of a suitable way to honour her memory and Carol, one of our members and Joan's closest friend came up with the idea of a Charity Concert. So for 6 months now we have been working on putting this show on the stage.
The final result was One Voice, which we performed to a capacity house at the Lighthouse Theatre, last Sunday the anniversary of her passing.
We are delighted at the sums of money raised for her two favourite charities Bowel Cancer UK and KGH Centenary Wing.
THANK YOU JOAN. And thank you to all her friends from all the different walks of her life that came and supported us.
We've recently also been pleased to collaborate with other local choirs to raise funds for deserving causes.
AND REMEMBER - WE ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO HIRE FOR YOUR LATEST FUNCTION OR FUNDRAISER.

If you take a peek at our Products Page you will see some Programme samples that show we have Songs for Every Occasion - Literally.
See You Soon.
WHERE WE'VE BEEN:-
St Peter's Church Irthlingborough
Saturday 7th July 2018.
A warm welcome (in more ways than one!) at this lovely church with excellent acoustics and a charming friendly audience.Happy to say we survived a really muggy evening to bring some music to Irthlingborough for the second time this year.
Celebrating 800 years of Worship
at St Mary's Church Weldon
Saturday 23rd June 2018
It's been a long time since we visited Weldon and we're now wondering why. Such a lovely crowd, and a real honour to be asked to celebrate the great history of the church in this way.
Hughie James presents

Sound Sensation and Voices Aloud
Friday 15th June 2018 at
Kettering Buccleuch Academy.

We were delighted to join with Voices Aloud to raise the roof and raise funds for a very worthwhile cause. A magnificent total was achieved so well done to all.
Rushden Salvation Army Ladies
Thursday 17th May, 2018
We had a fabulous afternoon here, on a beautiful afternoon. I do so hope we can go again.
St Mary's Church Little Addington,
Sat 10 March.
We received a very warm welcome on a damp cold evening in February. Our guest Tenor Solo, Josh Daniels, made the concert particularly special.
Saturday 12th March
We could have chosen a better date, as the footie seemed to be at the forefront of a lot of people's minds on this damp evening in March. BUT those that chose the arts over sport were thrilled with the concert and full of enthusiastic invitations to 'please come again'. We look forward to it and love visiting this corner or Northamptonshire. Thanks for making us so welcome.
Christmas at the MBC!
Thursday 17th Dec
What can I say? Great friends, great songs, great night.
Rushton Village Hall
Wednesday 9th Dec.
The other half of the gang turned out for the 100 Years of WI Birthday Celebrations at Rushton. Never was Jerusalem more thoroughly sung, by both choir and Members. A fitting celebration.
Isham Ladies Group.
Isham Village Hall
Thursday 3rd Dec
One of the stormiest nights of the year saw us in Isham at the lovely new village hall with the Ladies Group. We took just half of our usual number which was perfect for the venue and had a really fun night. Embarrassingly, I won 1st prize in the raffle!
Ringstead 12th September.
We were delighted to surprise Jodie and Jamie by singing at their charming wedding. Mum Gail managed to keep it a secret and we were delighted with the result!
We would all like to express our thanks for the choir attending my daughter's wedding. I have to say that you were all fantastic and we all resorted (even my mother) to tears when you started singing. Jodie mouthed to me at the alter "don't know half the people in church" and got quite a shock when you started singing. It was something that will be memorable for many years to come. Also the crowd that was outside said OMG you sounded amazing....
Once again a big heartfelt thanks to all and please pass on how pleased we was with you all.
We felt privileged to be asked.
Wishing the Happy Couple a long and happy marriage.
Grafton Underwood Church
We are so lucky to be able to sing in some of the most marvellous places. St James's church was packed on the evening of July 10th - a very warm evening! We provided a nicely mixed programme and the church provided some delicious refreshments.
Delighted to say that they were thrilled and several audience members expressed a wish that we return. So maybe we'll see you there next year.
"Many thanks again for a most enjoyable evening.Glad you enjoyed coming - some folk went out saying it was the most enjoyable concert they'd been to, and it's great that the evening recruited 2 new members! Many thanks again"
Carey Church, Members Group.
It was our absolute privilege to sing for members of the congregation and their friends in the newly refurbished Carey Church. It is now a most attractive light and airy space with the most amazing acoustics! We thoroughly enjoyed singing in this lovely place and it seems our audience enjoyed it too!
St Christopher's Residential Home, Northampton.
This may be only a small, private, church-run residential care home, but the charming little chapel has fabulous acoustics and we were able to make the most of them to bring music to the residents and create some smiles.
Nene Valley Ladies Dec 16th
Talk about Girls just want to have fun! What a lovely evening this was with the Ladies of the NVL, Can't wait to do it again!!
St Mary's and All Saints Church
Friday 8th August,
We had so been looking forward to this one. Come the night a storm of biblical proportions practically washed us away, which obviously put paid to any 'casual' audience. However, we had a few stalwarts who braved the weather and made it a really fun evening. The wine and nibbles helped!
Sharnbrook Mill Theatre,
Saturday 22nd June.
The Warm Up Appeal most certainly lived up to it's name on this very warm evening in June, with the gents having to shed their jackets at half time! The audience too gave a very warm welcome to the singers and ticket sales plus raffle have added a 'tidy little sum' to the appeal account. The Mill Theatre audiences can look forward to soon being cool in summer and warm in winter!
Sound Sensation at St Mary's Kettering.
Saturday 22nd February, 7.30pm.
We were proud to be back in our home town in this marvellous venue.
This evening was dedicated to the memory of Miss Gladys Riseley our founder, mentor and inspiration who passed away 30 years ago in January.
The acoustics in St Mary's are truly spectacular and the concert, and the sentiment, were very well received by a large audience of friends old and new.
We hope to return in the not too distant future.
Kettering Park House,
Friday 20th December 8pm - 9pm.
This was a new one for us and we weren't too sure, but having won the Brewers Fayre Carol competition in 2011, we couldn't really turn down an invitation from Marston's Park House, could we?
It was a noisy, jolly, pre-Christmas, bit of fun that seemed to go down well with everyone, particularly Emily the Birthday girl that we took the opportunity to sing to!
Thursday 19th December
You'd think by now they'd want a change! But "No" our annual visit to the Midland Band club sees bigger audiences than ever, with people clamouring for tickets as soon as they're back from their summer holidays. It's always an event we enjoy and marks the real start of Christmas for us. Thank you everyone for making it such a fun evening!
A Handful of Songs
Market Harborough Baptist Church.
Saturday 7th December 7.30pm
The Church was beautifully decorated for Christmas when we sang at Mkt Harborough Baptist church. The newly refurbished roof was in danger of being lifted, and yummy interval refreshments were greatly appreciated by audience and choir alike.
A tribute to Nelson Mandela, who had just passed away, brought tears to many eyes. But a rousing Christmas selection ended the evening on a joyous note.
Autumn Show Stoppers
Saturday 19th October, 2013. 7.30pm.
Holy Trinity Church
for Rothwell Holy Trinity Trust.
The rafters of this beautiful church truly rang to the sound of a wide range of songs, some of which the audience joined in with gusto! Lovely refreshments added to the success of the evening. We sincerely hope we will return as it was a joy to sing there
"On behalf of Holy Trinity Rothwell Trust I would like to thank you and the members of Sound Sensation for all the hard work that went into Saturday nights Concert.
We had many favourable comments both on the quality of the singing and the variety of the programme.
Please pass on our thanks to all your members for a very enjoyable and memorable Concert."
A Handful of Songs
Rothwell and Desborough Thursday Club
Rothwell Methodist Church.
Thursday 19th September, 8.00 pm.
The lovely ladies of the Rothwell and Desborough Thursday Club played host to the equally lovely ladies of the Kettering Club at the Methodist Church on this balmy September evening. A really charming venue.
They were a very appreciative audience who were very supporting of our newer soloists for which we thank them. We were then indulged with a delicious buffet supper provided by the club.
The evening also saw the successful re-homing of Harvey the Homeless Bear following a bountiful raffle!
"Many thanks for the concert on Thursday night. The ladies from both Rothwell and Kettering Thursday Clubs enjoyed the evening.
It was nice to meet up with you at last."
Marie Curie Charity Ladies Day
Thursday 18th April, 2013.
A very elegant gathering at the Kettering Park Hotel were treated to a Charity Day with a vast range of activities to raise funds for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Foundation who provide essential end of life care for cancer sufferers.

Desborough Royal British Legion
Friday 12th April,2013. 7.30pm
Together with the Sixties Band
A very wet evening didn't deter our audience from turning out and enjoying an evening of very different styles from Sound Sensation and the 60's Band.
"A quick Thank you for the Excellent Sound Sensations presentation at the above event. The feedback is that it was much enjoyed by those attending"
Our Prize of our own recording in a Professional Recording Studio was a real highlight of 2011. See full story on our 'About Us' page.
